What we are building
Concept Map Maker is a browser-based visual-learning tool for students, teachers and independent learners. The product combines a lightweight editor with a focused library of editable subject maps.
Who runs this site
Concept Map Maker is maintained by Jack Tao, who edits the templates and articles. Bylines, footers and article schema name the actual author. We do not attribute content to invented experts; where an article shares a practical heuristic, it is labeled as the site author’s practical rule rather than an outside expert quote.
How our content is made (AI-assisted)
Some drafts are AI-assisted. Every published page is then human-edited: claims are checked against sources, specific statistics are linked to a real source next to the claim, and subject accuracy is reviewed before a template is marked as reviewed. An AI-generated outline is never presented as a reviewed academic source.
Sources we prioritize
For subject content we prefer open, primary educational sources — for example OpenStax and other textbook or institutional references — over secondary blogs. Where a figure or strong claim appears, we link the specific source next to it, and we prefer current textbook conventions over outdated rules of thumb.
What we do not claim
- We do not claim real-time collaboration until that feature exists.
- We do not publish invented user counts, testimonials or performance improvements.
- We do not assign articles to fictional experts.
- We do not present an AI-generated outline as a reviewed academic source.
Template review standard
Each published template should include a focus question, real node data, labeled relationships, an editable JSON representation, a readable HTML summary, a review date and appropriate references. A template page must add functional value beyond its keyword.
Corrections
When a factual or relationship error is found, the map data, readable summary and export preview are corrected together, and the review date is updated. You can report an issue any time through our contact page so educators and learners can flag problems.
Advertising policy
Ads do not interrupt the editor canvas or appear next to controls in a way that could cause accidental clicks. Advertising belongs on sufficiently substantial guides and template detail pages, subject to current Google publisher policies.
